Studies reveal startling facts
A group of professors, helped by their students, started research on a subject which so interested them that they forgot almost everything else and remained dedicated to the field, this subject was women. The particular facet of women that they investigated was their shapes. This work revealed, begun over fifty years ago, revealed such startling results that it began to interest hospitals, doctors and related professors. They collected roughly 20,000 women of varying shapes, sizes and heights. They measured each of these women and discovered that there are only five basic types of figure.

Basic classifications
Regardless of whether women are short, tall, fat or thin, they only fall into five basic categories. Type 1 has a small waist, neat bust, prominent rear and hips. Type 2 has a very small bust and large hips. Type 3’s figure is more mature and features a large abdomen. The fourth type of figure is well proportioned, otherwise seen as average. Type 5, the last figure class, features slender hips and a large bust. From this research many specialized fitment methods were devised.

The basis of design
The basic design of all women’s wear is developed around these basic body types. They are referred to by many other names but they all cover the same basic classifications. When out shopping for your next choice of women’s wear be certain to keep in mind this fact, and select something that is best suited to your individual body type, it will be far more flattering than any other option.
