Visual Kei is a style of music that is ever growing in popularity throughout Japan. Whereas the majority of those that confess to be follows of the style dislike it being used as a reference term to music, Visual Kei is a combination of rock styles including electronic and pop. This social subculture is stylized by elaborate hair styles and over-the-top costumes. Many individuals make extensive use of the range of Gothic Lolita dresses available, as they meld well into this form of social statement.
